This post started 5 years ago, didn't it?

I've been using the Crowne CM-311A for the last 4 years, and I am so happy with it. Besides sounding great, I can do this:

1. Look at the buttons and display of my keyboard without taking my mouth off the mic.
2. Look at the audience everywhere in the room without taking my mouth off the mic.
3. Cough without being heard by pressing a button on the belt pack of the mic.

It is a great microphone for an arranger keyboard player. No boom necessary.

The only people that shy away from it are those who get really loud at the top of their range or really soft on the low notes. I think the CM311A has helped my singing because I have learned to sing throughout my range at approximately the same volume.

If you often worry about taking your mouth off the mic to look at your keyboard or people on the sides of the room, the CM311A should definitely be looked at.
