I haven't tried that out, as I usually use onboard Style Assembly and Groove/Dynamics to get what I want.

I think the part has to be played in for editing to be allowed, at least within Style Creator.

Perhaps if it were changed in an external sequencer and saved it may allow you to edit.

I don't use anything other than Style Creator, so I don't know the answer.
