I'm using my 3000 with an 88 key controller and it's fantastic for use at home and recording.

I wouldn't want to gig with all the extra weight, but once you've played the 3000 with 88 weighted keys it's almost impossible to do without! It's so much more expressive with better control over velocity, and when played in full keyboard mode you can really go to town!
