The VOCALIZER TO ARRANGER feature could be very helpfull (though I agree it doesn't replace direct access to chord modes).

With this feature, you can assign ANY Vocalizer mode & independent vocal settings to the START, STOP ARR A-D, FILL 1-3 & BREAK buttons. This way, when you are playing live and press any of these buttons, as your arrangement changes, so do your 'vocalists' based on what you programmed it to be!

This can be accessed from the VOCALIZER - EDIT -> Vocalize To Arr (F8). Remember to save this setting ... if you like it.
