"The buttons you want are hidden in menus, but can be written into different vocal "sets" You can call up a window that has this menu access and change access to sets on the fly, but NO - you can't just punch up a 3rd or a 5th at random without a lot of grief."
Shit. I was afraid of that. So that means I'd be better off not to use styles in those instances. Better to record them as sequences. What a drag. You'd think they would realize that convenience with the harmony would be important.
"If you are using the LEFT assignment with a style , it is extremely easy to add a 3rd to the vocal . Example .....play a single C note and get a C major chord . If you add the E , you get the harmonized 3rd with the chord changing . Add the G and you get three part harmony without going to any menu at all .

I'm not sure if this is how you are meaning it, but are you suggesting playing notes in a specific pattern in order to control the harmony notes? That wouldn't be useful. Then any piano arrangements you played would have to be changed so you were only pressing the keys that would select the type of vocalizer intervals you wanted.
remember I am talking about live playing, not recording. So in any event it looks like my only other option is to preset one interval or intervals only and be satisfied with that for on the fly harmony.
Thanks a lot guys. It's good to know these things before you even start looking. You end up reading the manual 5 times over for something not there.
