I was performing in a casino last week, playing the Midjay with my controller. I noticed a guy watching me very carefully. When I took a break, he approached me and inquired about my gear.
I showed him what I had, and he said it was by far the best "live" sound he'd ever heard. It turns out he was touring with a road show that was appearing the next night. He had never heard of Ketron, but he told me he just HAD to have one.
I asked him what he had now, and he said he played a synth but had just bought a new Yamaha Tyros 2 to compose with. But he hadn't been able to get comfortable with it. He said the keys were sort of small, and it was hard for him to figure out the operating system.
Then, out of the blue, he asked me if I would consider a trade. I said, sure, I'll trade you the Midjay and controller for your Tyros 2. To my amazement, he said O.K.! He gave me his cell phone number and said to call him tomorrow.
So I did. He asked directions to my house. So I told him. He was there within an hour, in a limosine, and had the driver get the Tyros 2 out of the trunk. It was still in the original packaging and he had the stand and T2 speakers as well, along with a T2 carrying case he had ordered from Europe. He brought it in, I showed him how to get around the Midjay, and he had his driver pack it in the trunk and they left.
And I swear that's the truth. That's exactly how I traded my Midjay for a T2.
