I heard that somewhere there is a list of hard drives that will work on the Tyros. Do any of you folks know where it is located?

Tom

Hi Tom,

Here is a list of compatible Hard Drives from the Yamaha PK Club -

Compatible Hard Drives for Tyros, etc.

You may want to get a smaller Hard Drive though because the Tyros cannot load .wav, .aiff, .mp3 etc., as you know. You will save money and still have a very hard time trying to fill up even a 6.0 Gigabyte one.

Just a thought...

Best regards,
Mike

PS: They list a 60 Gigabyte that is compatible with the Tyros but from what I've understood the Tyros has a limit of "40" Gigabytes. I could be wrong about that though. Maybe Steve can enlighten us on that one.

Another PS: Even IF a 60 Gig Hard Drive would work on the Tyros it would probably take several lifetimes to fill it up seeing that the Tyros cannot load .wav, .aiff, or .mp3, etc. as you know. So instead you may want to get a 20 Gig or even smaller and save some money. I have a 20 Gig Hard Drive and I have more than 90% free space left. And that's after thousands upon thousands of midi's, styles, etc. that I've loaded into it.

Just a thought...

Best regards,
Mike

I recently purchased a 40Gb Fujitsu 5400 rpm 2.5" at Fry's Electronics and installed it on my Tyros.

It worked very well for me so far, the only suspicious thing was that the format was quite fast
