I searched and donot find any good answer. But can some guru explain what a MFD file is for?

Hopefully Tapas can give me a good answer first.

Tigerfool: I use the Tyros Music Finder (MFD) a lot when performing. In fact, I even created my own CUSTOM MFD database which INCLUDES most ALL of the songs in my repetoire. Here are links to threads were I discuss how I use & setup the Music Finder. I've also included links on the referenced threads of MFD screenshot pics & Music Finder editor program which allows you to easily created your own MFD using Michael Bedesem's program: "Music Finder View":

Here is a link that will provide you with my MFD's for the PSR-3000, one that has nearly 500 songs to select from. It's a great tool that is essentially a large data base of songs and associated styles that you can access at the touch of a button. http://psrtutorial.com/Files/GD_gary.html

Tiger,

I have also started to use the MFD when I gig. If one or two of the variations of any of the styles in the preset or user area is good for your song you can simply set the tempo and store this in a personal MFD. This makes selecting these songs pretty quick - For more complex adjustments to other parameters or that use styles that load from elsewhere then I use registrations.

Some people just use registrations named after each song - Travelling Easy (Gary) has done this and has gig disks freely available for all on the PSR Tutorial site if you have a 2000 or 3000

It's just nice to have a choice.
