I've just discovered another problem with my Tyros besides for the USB issue. I plug in my Shure SM58 and I get a big hiss (similar to a ground hum). My voice can still be heard above the noise, but the noise is completely intolerable.

I found the eq setting to be +10 (which I didn't set - is that default?) on the high, but turning it down only improved the problem marginally. Obviously vocal harmony won't work with such a noise.

Anybody experienced similar problem?

Assuming it really is a problem, Yamaha will sort it out together with the USB problem.

It may be the compressor is on and set a little high, so it is amplifying the hiss. Try turning the vocal compressor off and see if that helps.

Hey Zalman I use on' old 58 with my Tyros and it works fine.

It's not quite as crystal as the older EV mic I use but it is well useable.

Is your mic working OK with just your PA?
