What are the negative issues surrounding the 3000? Is it "some of the handy button controls are missing."

Is everyone disappointed with the problems?

Boo. Having recently bought a PSR3000, it is far better than I was expecting. It's a joy to play and the inbuilt speakers perform well.
The USB input for Style loading is very fast. I bought a Sandisk 256MB which will provide me with all the storage I will ever need.

The downside for me is the soft feel of the keys after the excellent keybed of my previous 9000Pro, but I am now after 2 weeks coming to terms with this.
I have a foot switch to trigger the right hand harmony on & off so that takes care of that problem.
The vocal harmony is not as good as the one on the 9KPro.
To be honest this board is difficult to fault for it's price point. I am very pleased with it.

Graham UK.

Boo,
I'll tell you what I don't like about it, since you asked. Bear in mind, there is a lot I do like about it!
1. External power supply. I hate them.
2. No dedicated button for mic settings. Shouldn't be a problem for you, but I like to fiddle with them a lot. I like to be able to turn the Mic DSP off and on and use the Talk function on the Tyros.
3. It's really heavy, nearly 20 pounds!! After lifting all those bricks, can you handle that?

Boo,

It's too cold to lay bricks--buy a 3000.

Mike, the Tyros DOES have USB. Price is only an advantage if they are similarly equipped. The Tyros has so much more which is rolled into that price increase.

Wrong kind of USB! It's used in place of a midi cable--not for attaching external storage devices. At least that's the way it reads to me.

Don, I guess I don't understand "External Power Supply."

Gary, I started a little brick project yesterday. It's been foggy as all git-up for the past week or so. It doesn't clear up until around 11:AM

Somebody slid on ice into a brick wall with lettering at the entrance to a residential neighborhood.

It so happens I did the job 12 years or so ago. Before I take anymore repair jobs, I'm going to make sure that it's not one of my jobs. I used an air hammer gun 4 or 5 hours yesterday and 4 or 5 hours again today.

The mortar was so hard some of the bricks would break before the mortar would come off, as I was trying to clean them. I can't get new brick locally to match.

I left some of the sections that broke off alone. I just cleaned them up along the edges where i new to replace them in the wall. It's too hard to get them apart and clean the brick.

Some of the sections are 8 to 10 bricks stuck together. I hope this works! This is a new experiment for me. I make good money doing this but man it's rough. I'd rather be tooting my sax!

Boo, external power supply means there is a little box with a cord on it that converts the a.c. power from the plug on the wall.
Internal power supply means you just plug a more-or-less standard plug in.

Wow! That's the little thingy majig that gives power to my ih harmony machine. Why do they use this stuff. Is it cheaper than a regular power supply cord. This has to be made in China right?
