A few tips and suggestions.

I have noticed the many posts about lyrics on
outboard gear and setting up the pa4x
songbook.

Here are some ways I use my Roland G70 and also
my Roland EA7 to acheive the same results
but in a better way.

On the G70 I use playlist instead of user
programs (user programs are like songbook).

Playlist are selected songs (SMF) from your onboard library.

This is a perfect method for 1 hour gigs.
You can auto play to next, or trigger play next
when you are ready, allowing you to introduce the next song.
You can follow the order you select or select
any song from the playlist.
You can also exit and play any style or
song in your libraries.
And at a touch of the screen re enter the playlist.
The playlist are endless, as many as you want,
and you name the individual playlist.

The advantage of using the SMF play is huge..

It allows you to enter lyrics easily on the G70,
eliminating the need for tablets
and laptops for lyrics.
It also shows the chords, in the Rolands 2 measures at a
time..This makes it easy to read the chord
a measure ahead.

You can also use 4 markers and enhance the SMF method play.

You can use commercial SMF, or easily capture your
style play performance.
After you record your style song, add markers and lyrics.
Now your left hand is free to play and control sounds.
ROLAND you can see the chord progression as well
as the lyrics.

Korg , you will have to embed chords,
Korg does not auto read SMF chords.

I do not like to use one touch settings.
I prefer to use my 6 parts for live play..
I have the same band members this way.
Much more realistic.
My keyboard part handles keys, piano, EP, organ etc.
My horn part handles sax, brass.
My guitar handles acc and elect guitar.
My bass player is consistant.
My choir is available.

As an example I can record my style play as a SMF,
add markers and lyrics,
mute the parts I want to play, instead of auto play.
This allows me to play basslines,
guitar turn arounds, piano comp, organ solo etc.

Hopefully I have given you some ideas, to use your
keyboard in a way you won't need
to depend on tablets and readers.

I concur 100%, that's why I love my current E-A7 and my previous E-80 and G-70.
