I am leaning towards the S900. I have to make sure all my registrations transfer without a hitch. These contain OTS, mixes, etc that are all custom for my performances.

Is it as simple as copying my data to a usb or sm card and loading into the 900?

Thanks for you help.

On my PSR3000, my styles were stored on my Smart Media Card. When I transfered these styles + my registrations onto a USB stick, every registration pulled up the correct style (except for the several styles that were on the PSR3000 but not on the PSR-S900.

If you have your styles stored on a USB stick already, I'm not sure if the PSR-S900 will find the style when you call up the registration. You'll have to ask someone else.

Some onboard styles on the PSR3000 have the same name as the PSR-s900 styles, but they are new styles (some were already there on the Tyros 2. This is the case with a lot of the ballroom styles. You will want to transfer these styles from your PSR3000 onto your USB.

Some multipads will sound different.

Zuki....I would pretty much start from scratch so that you can really tweak it the right way in the S900 itself.....you might find some new things you want to use vs the 3k....sure it takes a bit longer to do your homework but when you done it will be RIGHT.

In anticipation of demo-ing an S900 at a Sam Ash, I took my PSR 3000 thumbdrive with me. It worked beautifully in the S900. My custom registrations had no problem linking to onboard styles, multi-pads, pedal assignments and all the other tweaks in volumes, mixes, voices, etc. Third party styles and midi files on the thumbdrive were all recognized by the S900 without a hitch.

"I'm leaning toward the S900..."

Good choice, Zuki. I think moving up from a fantastic keyboard like the 3k to the S900 will be just what you need to keep that enthusiasm going.

It sounds as if most, if not all your hard work on the 3k can be successfully transferred over to the S900, so do that first and then tweak only what needs tweaking. After you become familiar with the S900 you can go back and change those 3k items you want to update. Go for it, pal!

Let us know how your 3k repair comes along. Maybe one of us would be interested if the repair is successful and the price stays right.
