Not really, in fact it is the same system that was supplied programmed in my 7000.

Interestingly the 7000 has a more sophisticated system update than the 6X00 series. The procedure will ask you to checksum the disks before it erases the existing operating system, a very necessary and intelligent step to avoid accidents and problems. This is now part of the update, as well as the separate checksum option.

Then you can update, and if you are trying to update with an identical system to the one loaded in the machine already, it will tell you so and give an option to cancel or proceed.

My 7000 is version 1.3, program 893, table 80.

Hello. I just aquired a kn7000 and am wondering how you tell the OS it is sporting. Is there anywhere I can get a copy of the floppies it came with? Thanks.

Not sure where you can get the updates. However you can check your version by switching on whilst holding the sound buttons [PIANO] [GUITAR] [MALLET & ORCH]. Mine shows version 1.6. Somewhere around my home I may still have the disks, but at this moment I don't know where! I'll try and research from where I downloaded them. I think it was a German site

Found a site, but it is german! http://www.piano-schmitz.de/download/download.htm

Some of the other sites that had it, including Australia seem to be now closed down.

Which version is an honest to goodness "Factory" update? Which version came from Technics?

Thanks, Tim

Thanks a lot guys. With your help I see my 7000 has 1.6 on it now. I think windows can convert languages if I can just remember how to do it.

Can anyone explain the difference between version 1.3 and 1.6? My 7000 has version 1.3 but I hesitate to upgrade unless there is a good reason to do so!

Thanks for any further clarification!

My understanding is that one of the versions past 1.3 corrected an erroneous reporting of the free capacity on the SD card and also corrected an (unspecified) problem with the use of the EW series of sound expansion cards.
