Scott- Nice pictures! Musicpad Pro is targeted to be purchased by end of the year. There's simply too many advantages for me to pass it up. Using the file management feature, I can save set lists for my solo act AND my band gigs. *No weekly resorting the sheet music... *No shuffle, putting away/pulling up the next tunes music... *No more carrying large file boxes of music into gigs anymore... *No more lamp on my music stand... It will save me significant time amd effort for sure. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the initial scanning project that awaits me. I have a working song list of about 135 tunes I regulary perform between my solo stuff and the band. All told, I have upwards of 400-500 songs available to me at any gig. First task will be to scan in my heavy play songs and get files set up for solo and band work. Once that is done, I can add in additional material as needed/as time permits. I'll thank you now in ADVANCE for the help I'm sure to be asking you for once I get mine! Be well- Bill in Dayton

Hi Scott I have been toying with the idea, but the daunting task of re-scanning my music has left me cold. I have a couple of thousand tunes scanned into my laptop, but there are disadvantages ,as well as advantages.
I would like to know more your labor swap for songs already in correct format.
Bernie

Hi Bernie, what computer image format (JPEG, PNG, or?) were your 2,000 scanned tunes saved to on your PC? Converting from most image formats over to Freehand format (.fh) is both quick & simple. As far as the labor swap thing goes, for 'you' , it would of course be a more than extra generous. Ok Bernie, I'd be interested in hearing just what the 'disadvantages' and 'advantages' have been for you in utilizing your laptop for 'music/lyicss' display. - Scott

Hi Scott My scanned jpegs are in Paperport format. That is the software that was bundled with my One Touch(Visioneer)scanner.
The advantages of the Musicpad Pro are 1.Screen size that is more amenable to vertical images without scrolling.
2.Playlist or song recall that is probably faster than Paperport.
3.Can add or subtract notes , and notation.
4.Turn pages with footswitch(optional).
5.More inconspicuous presence.
Disadvantages
1.$1200
2.That is all it can do, e.g.can't play midi,CD etc
However, what it does, it does well.
over to you
