More questions!! Honestly, when I eventually buy a new arranger, I'll actually help with queries instead of constantly asking questions!! Thanks again!!
When I buy either the Tyros 2 or the PA800, should I get a Hard drive installed already by the manufacturer on request, or is it simple enough to install one myself? The same goes for the likes of extra RAM?

It's easy to do yourself and generally cheaper to do it yourself. I don't believe you'll need one on the PA800, but probably will on the T2. I bought one for the Tyros for around $30. and it worked great. I think the Tyros 2 I bought already had one installed. Just about any laptop-size drive will work. Don't feel bad about asking questions--that's the real purpose of this forum! DonM

Hello Stein67, From what I've read, it may not be necessary to install a hard drive into the PA800. I currently have a PA60 with a TOSHIBA 20GB 2.5"(9.5mm) Slim LAPTOP HARD DRIVE installed. I had the same hard drive in my is40. Both worked out very well and I intend to have the same HD installed in the PA800. I am a techniaclly challanged person and fortunatly, I have a Korg authorized tech about an hour drive away who does the installations for me. Ciao, Jerry
Out of curiosity, why do you say it may be needed on the T2 but not on the PA800?
Going slightly off course, I must say that the PA800 has crept in quietly as a real contender for my ££. I was pretty much set on getting the T2 (which is a wonderful keyboard), but the "talk" around the PA800, seems to point towards it too being a fantastic keyboard. Decisions, decisions!!

The PA800 has two USB 2.0 ports to which you can insert memory sticks (thumb drives) for storage. They are inexpensive and very fast. The T2 has a digital recorder that records to the hard drive in WAV format. That takes a tremendous amount of space, as you can re-record as many times as you wish. DonM
With the USB2 ports on the PA800, would it be feasible to connect an external hard drive if I wanted to? And although it is only USB1 on the Tyros 2, I presume an external HD could also be connected to it.
I know you said it is easy to install a HD, but the external drives are excellent and you really couldn't get anything more straightforward than plugging it in
HI, you can use a floppy, external harddrive .via usb, i do it on my PA 800, it works fine, also you can install a internal hard drive if you like, best regards, Benno
