Because Korg offers the MP3 option....Korg would be my choice over a VA76......I would most likely take a G70 over the Korg,,,The latter is a better comparison..

If you are thinking of replacing your VA76, the Korg is a good choice, but if MP3 option is not important, I am sure the G70 is the way to go...Either way ,you have to Annie up[Spend$$$]..

Don't forget the VA series is 4-5 years older then the Korg PA series..and many Roland fans had nothing to update to...until this winter[G70]..

Just because , some of these people have changed doesn't mean the Korg is better[in many ways it is not]....some people have changed because they had no other choice[other than Yamaha and Ketron]..

And Yes, Version2 is better than the original VA..More features..

The VA76 was discontinued here in the USA November of 1994. The G70 was introduced in January 2005. The user interface is much easier to navigate on the G70 compared to the VA76. Also, the voices in the G70 are more similar to the Roland Fantom series of keyboards plus there is a vocal harmonizer which was not on the VA76. You can also use a PCMCIA adapter and use any kind of hard drive or storage card you might want to use where on the VA76 you were stuck with a Zip disk which is no longer considered state of the art, plus they were noisy and broke alot if you moved the keyboard around alot.
I also sell alot of Korg PA1XPRO keyboards. The benefit for some is the quality and number of onboard styles. Korg is great at really giving you tons of usuable styles. Some wish there were more than 2 intros, endings and fills because the Roland has 4 inro's endings and 6 fill ins. Korg also offers the CD burner and MP3 optional features. Some will complain about the Korg only having 62 notes of polyphony, but understand that in the korg way of doing things, even though a sound can have up to 5 oscilators, no sound ever uses more than one note of polyphony when you play a single key on the keyboard. Many other brands use up to 2 or 4 notes of polyphony for every key played. I think Korg is unique in their system of voice allocation.
All in all, both keyboards are strong. The korg features great styles and a built in sampler, the Roland has great sounds and very good styles, although more would be better out of the box and a very strong user interface and great vocal harmonizer (korg is also very good). It's a hard choice! Some of my customers have both!

Hi,

my preference is for Pa1X, no question.

IMHO sounds and styles are of another category against Roland ones.

Just my 0,01%°.

Cheers.

If you start with variation A and start the style you have intro number 1 . Start off in B and you have the 2nd intro....etc...
