Hi Craig, thanks for the download link to the new Tyros2 OS 1.20 update. I was able to easily transfer the 6 files to USB Memory Stick, insert stick into my Tyros2, and perform the upgrade. Funny thing, so far I notice no diffence except for the new Music Finder button (icon) option which (begining 10/1) links to the Yamaha IDC site, to I assume, download (fee based?) custom Music Finder songs.

Interestingly enough, OS 1.20 also appears to have addressed SZ member: Tyrosman's, reported problem with the preset multipad entitled: "Gong and Chime", in which pressing the transpose+ button would mistakenly change the sound of one of the 1-4 multipad button sounds. On my Tyros2, os 1.20 appears now to have worsened the problem instead of fixing it. In addition, to eliminating the sound coming from multipad button #3 when the transpose + button is pressed, when the transpose down button is pressed, the sound switches to a crazy variety of sound effects, from bird twerping to dog barking, depending on the transpose down amount. Thank goodness, this problem appears to only occur with the "Gong and Chime" multipad.

Scott

That's strange Scott,
I've installed v1.2 and Gong & Chime Pad works OK irrespective of Transpose (or Upper Octave) that is set. I didn't try it before upgrading so don't know if a fault existed with Vers. 1.11 on my Ty2 or not.

I feel I've been cheated, where's my dawg!

Do I have to upgrade to 1.1 before I upgrade to 1.2?

Don't think it's necessary.

John, interestingly enough, Tyrosman too initially thought it was fixed after testing it the first time as well, but when he re-booted T2 again, he's now getting the SAME weird results with the "Gong & Chime" multipad as Craig & I, when transposing down (-1, -2, -3, etc). Will be interesting to get reports from others on this now.

I concur with Dreamer. When a Tyros OS Update is performed, whatever existing OS is currently installed, gets completely deleted first, followed then by installation of a complete brand new OS version in it's entirity.

Uh-oh,
I now have it. Similar to what you describe.

Just what is the justification for that OS "upgrade" I wonder?
