Since there hasn't been much activity on your posting, I guess an ill-informed one is better than none, eh?
I just rented the DR-770 for a week, and it's pretty easy to use, tweek, and has a pretty good bank of sounds. However, I wouldn't call it a great choice for hip-hop.
I don't know the DR-202 at all, but the website blurb implies it's aimed right at your stated needs. The word at the shop is that the DR-770 is a good general drum module, but is slim on hip-hop and techno.
