Hi everybody

I want to use the SID chip from my C-64 to build a synthesizer.

Does any of you know where to find information on this topic? Maybe you have done it yourself, in that case please email me.

If you have heard about the Music Machine, an easy-to-use tool for making the C-64 into a synth, please tell me where to find it

with kind regards

Thor Larholm aka jumper

Although this thread really isn't synth guitar related, unless you are going to control the SID chip form your midi guitar , you should really check out Sidstation which is standalone midi SID chip based synth. They may be able to direct you to the information you are looking for as well if you contact them.

Good luck.

Well, it's acutally something like the Sidstation I am going to build.

It wil just be an open project, where I will share my experince afterwards through a website, explaining everybody else how to take the SID chip out from a C-64 and make a live-oriented synth out of it

I have planned to put a lot of live controls on my SidSynth (nice name, or sucky?).

I have also thought about using 2 SID chips, just for the fun of it

You know, more envelopes, oscillators, filters, etc...

And, of course there will be MIDI on my SidSynth!
