Check out Yamahas MU series of soundmodules. The MU80 has a good selection of band and orchestra voices. If you can afford more, take a look at the MU100, MU100R, or MU128. If you are going to be working from a computer, you might want to check out the SW1000XG soundcard, its a MU100 in card form(basically).

MU128 is better than MU100R: 1.MU128 is 64 part 128 polyphony, but MU100R is 32 part 64 polyphony. 2.MU128 add some new solo strings.

If you're not a YAMAHA fan, try the new E-Mu Virtuoso 2000,

Sorry I forgot to tell what is the "riff"

Riff is a phrase in music. In virtuoso 2000 a riff is a small piece of music which is a introduction to a instrument.

You should see, they are testing their servers, and their web pages updated very slow. You can go to their company to see Virtuoso 2000 in Beijing if you are in China.
