Hello:
Looking for a keyboard for my kids (8 and 10 years old) to get started on before moving to an acoustic piano. I'm mostly interested in 1) action; 2) piano sound; and 3) ease of operation. What would make more sense, a P120 or the DXG505? What about the Casio PX400R?
Thanks very much,
Ian

Hello Ian: I would recommend the DGX 500 which is the predecessor of the DGX 505. The only difference is the screen and the fact that the 500 has a floppy drive only where the 505 has both a floppy and smart card slot. It so happens that I have a new in the box 500 I am selling. It comes with the survival kit (power supply), bench, software, and music stand. I live in New York. If you are interested, you can reply. I presently play a Roland FP2, a Technics KN6000 and Yamaha DGX 505.

Thanks for the reply.
What would total cost be for the 500 (zip=64033)?
How does the action of the 500 compare to the Roland FP-2?
Ian

Ian: I will stop by UPS Monday and plug your zip code in for the price on shipping. Your kids will like the DGX500 as opposed to the FP2 because the Roland has hammer-weighted keys as opposed to the Yamaha with semi-touch sensitive keys. I am alternating gigs with the Roland and Yamaha. I will contact you Monday...email. Until then...cya...!!!

Mike:
Thanks for all the effort. Great price, but I decided to go with something with graded hammer effect keyboard to get them ready for the real thing!
Thanks again,
Ian
