Just in case anyone missed my post on the Arranger forum, you can find my updates to XGworks for the PSR740 and 2000 on Jorgen's Unofficial website home7.inet.tele.dk/js/musik/740pages/ under PSR Software.

You can't use a Cakewalk file in XGworks. The format is entirely different. You need the XG Editor update files.

Click on PSR Links/Software and the XGworks update is the second one in the list. The zip file is 65k. Just unzip it and copy all the files into the XGEditor folder. The rest of XGworks picks up the definitions from that folder but you have to go into the XG Editor to select the PSR-2000. Funny way to do things but that's the way it works.

There are now some new updates on Jorgen's website. The previous updates were for the XG Editor and mainly for the PSR-740. The new updates are now complete for the PSR-2000 and add a lot of new Quick Edit screens for both instruments. There is also a additional set of updates for the event list. For some strange reason, XGworks has two instrument definition files, one for the event list and one for everything else, probably because the XG Editor was added later and needed a different format. Look under PSR Software and you'll find two zip files, one marked XGworks and one marked XG Editor. The XG Editor update will stand alone but obviously both would be better.

Note for Tyros owners. Applying the updates and selecting PSR-2000 will get you fairly close to the Tyros, the main differences being that the Tyros has a few more effects, 6 DSPs instead of 4 and a few more voices. One of the guys in the Yahoo PSR Songs group (John Frings) has constructed the XG Editor instrument definitions for the Tyros which is compatible with my updates except for the filename (which you can change accordingly).
