Just wondering if anyone knows of any good sound modules that have two MIDI ins and is multi timbral (16 part), with at least 64 poly, with very good pads and possibly expanability?

Anyone?

Peace
Bob

It would be unusual to find any modules with 2 MIDI inputs. You'd be best off simply buying a MIDI merge and then you could run 2 MIDI INs into any module.

I'm just curious, why do you want the 2 MIDI INs ?

Hi Nigel,
Just so that both keyboards in a two keyboard set up can access the sounds. The merge would work, but in a live rig, the less the better. So I'm just fishing around. I personally have not seen a module with two midi ins myself.

Thanks

I think there was a few (like Ketron + Solton) that may have had 2 midi-ins.

According to the specs on the X4 from Ketron, it has 2-ins.

RW, here's an inexpensive but not very sexy solution: I have this old Midi-Thru box made by Casio - yep... Casio, those movers and shakers in the synth world. It has two midi INs (A & B) with multiple outs (obviously). You could bring your two Master keyboards into the A&B, and go out to your preferred (slave) sound generator, and then simply flip a switch to designate which keyboard will control the slave - but not both at the same time (Hmmm, a cacophany of SysEx messages could be problematic anyway).

The "un sexy" part is that you wouldn't want to be flipping switches in the middle of a song - but the solution will only cost you about $20 bucks if memory serves.

There... that's all I know about everything!
