I read in a newsgroup about two Yamaha sound modules. They are described in Japanese on Yamaha's Japan website, and my computer and I do not read Japanese. Presumably, they are more advanced versions of the MU128s, and take the same plug ins. They also can be expanded using SmartMedia cards. Also, there is a USB interface for audio and data. If anyone knows any more, please post.

Yes, I also had a look at these product sites and read many postings at the Yamaha XG-users forum, XG-Central forum and Michael Banz's Discussion board. Some more features of these new sound-modules are:
-more effect units (up to 6 Insertion-effects)
-possibility to use user-samples
-built-in sequencer (MU2000)
-take more PLG-cards
-bigger wavetable-ROM
-digital out
-XGWorksV3 in packet

You already can buy these products in Japan also like XGWorks 4!
So you only have to find a vendor there over the internet and order it - if you can read japanese ; ) or just wait until next year. I'm sure, Yamaha plans to bring these modules to america and europe with the next NAMM.
