Hi Professors,I was disappointed with the response to my query re.best instrument (you are all too shy),but after reading some of the recent posts I think It is fairly obvious where the answer is.
Next question.....Now that Technics are no longer in production, do you have any problems with getting repairs and or spares.
Service people are thin on the ground here in "The Colony".
My PR903 pianner does not want to boot up readily and requires a number of on/off actions to get started, and also sound disappears mid-play sometimes.
Any ideas from the"Academics"???

HI,

Try to find a Technics Service person is going to be 1 of many challenges. My PR804 went out, the closest Technics Service person I found was 150 miles away. It was the motherboard which had to be shipped to Japan. A refurbished motherboard was sent, and all this took 3 months and $$$. But it is fixed and doing great, so far.

The problem I had may not be yours, but as time goes by, getting service and repairs are going to be, well lets say challenging.

Good Luck..

Yes !!!I had exactly the same problem under warranty. The Technician has been and thought he could fix on site. But nooooo... it looks like it is off to Japan. Do not want to know about the $$$$$. Maybe surprise me

Thanks Anthony.
Sorry about my bad computer skills(writing over your text).
I am starting to feel depressed already without my toy, will have to rely on my 5000.(wish I had a 7000), " you lucky people". Who used to say that?

Hi Ray (the saint)
"you lucky people" was the catch phrase of the London comedian TOMMY TRINDER he was very popular in 40's 50's he was also the chairman of Fulham Football club !!

Ta Giovanni,
I knew someone would be paying attention and remember T.T.
Who else would have an accordion but Giovanni. My brother used to play a Galanti. Guess what he plays now? A Technics.
Ray ( in depression and mourning)
See Ya !!

Hi Ray , As A youngster in the 50's and 60's I was a fan of Fulham football club .

In my business career my company accountant supported fulham so we always had a lot of friendly banter regarding Fulham , tommy trinder of you lucky people fame !!
and of course my local team Norwich City (the Canaries)

I have played the accordion for many years , i have a couple of midi accordions and they can be connected to either my Technics smac1200 or the Kn7000

The best thing for me was to be introduced to Technics equipment about 12 yrs ago .
i have never looked back !!!

Regards .........Giovanni (Norwich Norfolk UK)

I would think that finding service people would not be too hard.

Now finding parts? That may be another story.
