I acquired a kn1000 from a friend with an even trade on a dw8000.Love it. It suits our needs as performing vocalists and entertainers. However he only included vol #2 owners manual and for the life of me I can't find out what function the "foot controller" on the back panel serves. Am I blind or overlooking something? Thanks in advance.

The 'Foot Controller' function allows for the use of an 'expression pedal' to control volume ... the 'Foot Switch' allows a foot pedal(s) to be used to control certain functions such as sustain, start/stop, fill in, etc.
You may be able to get a full copy of the users guide here: http://www.user-manuals.com/user-manual-TECHNICS-SXKN1000.html

Also, try contacting Walt Tenay: http://www.wtenaykeyboardstudios.com/technics.html

He may still have a copy of "How do I do That" by Alec Pagida, which will be an immeasurable help in learning the functions of the kn1000 ...
The kn1000 was my very first arranger kb ... I still have it although my main board now is a kn6000 ...
Enjoy,
t.
