Hi all,

The current status:

At the KN-7000, at the MAIN OUT, when connecting two powered speakers to the MAIN OUT, one to the R/MONO and the other to the L, The output at the two speakers is Stereo. To the contrary, when connecting only one powered speaker to the R/MONO the output to the Speaker is Mono

Question:

Is there any menu setting for the MAIN OUT to be MONO although I connected two powered speakers to the MAIN OUT (to the R/MONO and L connections)?

Best,
Doron

Hi,

MAIN OUT and SUB OUT provide the same output from the keyboard. That is to say they are at LINE OUT signal levels. MAIN OUT cannot be switched (does not offer user selections), but SUB OUT does. I would use SUB OUT if you want mono outputs. Go to PROGRAM MENUS/SEPARATE OUT SETTING to set the output to STEREO or MONO X 2. Look at pages 161 and 200 in the manual.

Maybe I have misunderstood your question and am offering a wrong answer. If so, I'm sorry. HOwever, I hope this answer helps you.

Hi Again,

I forgot to mention that if you elect to use the SUB OUT, you also have the option of turning off the MAIN OUT and the EXPRESSION PEDAL as well as having the facility to assign which parts you want to hear played e.g. bass only, drums only, accompaniment parts 1 - 5 only etc.

Best Wishes,

Chuck

Thanks you all!

AT the SUB OUT menu, I observed that I could only assign a particular part to be outputted.

I do want to have the whole output of the KN 7000 projected out throughout two powered speakers in a MONO mode. Is it still possible via the KN 7000 setting?

Does the output splitter works well as far as impedance matching is concern?

Doron,

I have used a splitter many times with HiFi.
Have not noticed any change in sound. I am no engineer. Maybe some of the engineer's aboard this train can answer.

For all practical purposes, impedance will not be a problem. Walter.

I used the sub output to send bass and drums to a sub woofer--- worked great --- until I loaded a mid file. The floor was filled with dancers who were staring -- no drum or bass sound, just chords and melody.
I know I've missed something, the results were a nightmare.
