I have an Alesis QS8.1 synthesizer and I want to midi my KN3000 to that. I would like to know of both boards have to be set at the same midi channel? If so, what channel? I am using the Alesis as the master and the kn3000 as the slave. Also, might I be asking for the potential, annoying problem of getting midi-lock at times?

you need to match up midi channels on the synth and the 3000 for the parts you want to play with the synth voices.

in the 3000 use the midi menu part setting to assign channels and local off if you want to disable the 3000 voice for that part.

in the qs midi part setting do the same to match. it does not matter which channel as long as they match.
