I am having problems with the Song Manager program. I have tried to merge two backups of 100 Technics files each without success. Each backup restores correctly but when I try to merge, the hard drive runs forever and if I check the program with CTRL-ALT-DEL, it is not responding. When I end the program, it has written a very large merged file (500MB to 2GB) that is no good.
The program gives no error messages.
I believe that I have followed all of the instructions in both the KN7000 manual and in Alec's book.

I would imagine that a backup is maybe slightly corrupted even though it seems to restore ok. I would restore both, scandisk or checkdisk perhaps, and make fresh backups. Combining a couple of 25MB backups into a 50MB backup takes only a few seconds for example.

Alec,
I reinstalled the program and checked the SD Cards for errors (all OK) and made new backups as you suggested.
Merge now works on my backups but I tried merging two of the backup files downloaded from the Technics Web Site (KN3000 A and KN5000A) and these files make it hang.
I downloaded the Technics Site files again, unzipped them, and they now work.
The problem must have been corrupted files.
