if the volume on the back panel was turned up a dynamic mic should give enough level, condenser might not without some external power.

Hi Barry.
Thank you.
If you have small mixer! try your mic through it to the keyboard.a pre-amp is usually present in the mixer. I get a good sound using an Alesis microverb, as a pre-amp

A Diffrent 'Board But The Same Topic;

Last week I purchased a bog-standard Dynamic Microphone IMP.600 for the princely sum of £1.00 (US$1.88 at the time of writing). Plugged it straight into the back of the 6K and perfect sound quality. Even enough to record vocals as a WAV file ('board connected to PC).

Depending where you live you might not even have a PoundStore (i.e. everything costs £1.00) but if you have make use of it as their blank CD-Rs are excallent value.

(NB If there are any spelling problems in the above, forgive me but I only got up 5 minutes ago)
