I want to start making a personal music studio (just little stuff), but I need some help on what to get, and what things do. I'm not sure what to get actually, but I have an idea:

Synth - Mic - Drum Machine - Sampler* - Sound System* - Mixer* - CD Recorder*

Thats what I've come up with so far, am I missing anything? The items with a * are the things I dont have yet.

Sampler - I want something that I can connect from my keyboard to sampler, and play a riff from my keyboard and be able to play it back and different sections on the sampler. Same goes for a Mic. Also, what exactly do samplers do other then the playback. Plus, how would I hook it up on a mixer.

Mixer - duh. I mainly want opinions on this one. What's a good, non-expensive one, and can hold a Synth, Drum Machine, Sampler, and Mic.

Sound System - For my drum machine, mic and sampler, what kind of amp should I get? I use a keyboard amp now. Before I buy anything as well, let me know how it can be hooked up to the mixer suggested (I'm retarded )

CD Recorder - I'm thinking of the Tascam CD-RW 700. Is this good enough, or should I go for better. Also, how whould I hook this up on the mixer?

As you know, I'm really stupid in connecting things. So, sorry for all the extra typing you have to do.

I would like to get this stuff as soon as possible, so refer the cheap but good stuff. Thanks a crap load for reading and thanks in advance for repling.

As far as mixers go,, behringer is about the biggest bang for the buck. It has 48 volt fantom power built in. I understand the newer models also have built in effects. My 20 chanel behringer ran about $250. I don't see why you would need any amping. just plug the sound outs of the various modules to the sound ins of the mixer. Instead, get a pair of really good studio monitors(powered). As far a CD burners, why not just use the computer?

For a few hundred dollars you could pickup a computer that is capable of making music. You don't need a state of the art system. I would definately add a PC to your needed equipment list.
