Quicktime comes up and plays all midi's eventhough in folders the MIME is MidiNotate. I have gone into Quicktime and just checked streaming video. I can't believe this change comes from the websites. It is just the browser sites that are affected. I can't find a way of disassociating it from midi files.

Right Click on the file and select OPEN WITH, then choose a program you wish to use. I use Notate to open my midi files.

Thanks, but I don't have "open with". I have open, open in new window, save target as. As soon as I enter a site, it takes over. I can save target, but I want to audition first. I have XP home edition.

Hello Bernie
Open the MIME settings in QuickTime and expand Audio, (Click the cross to the left of it) and make sure Midi is unchecked. (Don’t forget to click Apply)
You can then assign the Midi files to open in whatever program you require.
Hope this helps.

Bill

Bernie,

I do not know the programs you refer to, but there is usually in Tools or Help a way to select which one you prefer as the default. Are you running Win XP?
