I'm looking for a style where each bar goes 12312312. I've heard it called a clypso beat, but actually it's quite common in pop songs you hear from time to time on the radio.

I've looked through the built in styles, but couldn't find one that fits this pattern. Do any of you kind folks have any suggestions for me?

Hi Mark, the style you lit as 123123etc makes me think you are looking at a 12/8 style not Calypso, it might help if you gave us a clue by telling us whot song or type of song you had in mind. As some members know I have a very wide selection of styles at hand ,some yet to be converted to the KN7000 so I may be able to help more info required please best regards John.

I think you are right that it isn't calypso at all. Bob Brozman mentions it in his DVD Rhythm in your Riffs. He calls it a Caribbean/New Orleans beat. He mentions Save the Last Dance for Me, but that's not the song I'm doing.

The song I'm working on is Clocks by
Coldplay. You can think of it as 8 beats to the bar with the emphasis on the 1st, 4th, and 7th.

After trying a lot of styles I found one that has this 12312312 feel. 8 Beat Soul variation 2! Beguine also has a similar feel to it.
