It worked this time so here goes.

Subject STYLES.

With the demise of Technics, source of new styles has disappeared. Over the years I've collected all the Technics styles and also the downloaded ones from the official kn7000 site. The introduction of each new kn model provided new styles but of course that is no more. Technote don't produce new styles, and so I wondered if those clever ones amongst us ( thinking of the likes of Fred Atkin, Larry Gosmeter to name but two) would care to do some work in this area for us?
My personal preference is for swing, jazz (but not traditional) bossa. Backings not overful, just drums, bass, piano and perhaps guitar.

Any volunteers?

Peter

Hi Peter , I have the EMC universal plus conversion software it will convert the styles of all the leading keyboard manufactures to KN7000 and then you really are spoilt for choice .

The results sometimes need a bit of tweaking .

Well because the patches used will sound different on other keyboards it may involve selecting new patches or drum kits. Plus it will certainly mean adjusting volume levels of channels to get things sounding natural. In other words it may take some time to edit the styles to sound good on another brand keyboard even after basic conversion. But you only have to do it the once and then save the changes.

Thanks Nigel.
I was thinking more along the lines of,
If a voice on the KN5000 was in a place of
it's own on the KN5000, then it may not pick up the same voice on another keyboard after conversion.
Regards.
Joe.

Giovani, Is the EMC conversion thingie similar to the Technics conversion floppy - I have the first conversion disk but missed out on getting the second one. Does the emc produce better results?

The software on the Technics convertdisk are made by EMC and very similar.
The second disk also have the option to convert some Yamaha stuff.

The PC software have more options and you can edit a lot more before you
load into the KN for further work / save. Also by use of midiconnection,
you can hear how it sounds at the KN while editing or listening.

To see for yourself, why not download a testversion at EMC to try out?
(Go to english / downloads)

Explore and have fun.
