I have been trying to copy some of the styles that I like on my KN2000 to my new KN7000.
It seems that if I save (all) from the Kn2000 and the Kn7000 happens to have a style by the same name, I get the Kn7000 style and not the Kn2000 style. To get around this, I have tried the following:
As an example, I like the Orchestra Swing from the Kn2000. Using the 2000, if I copy the patterns, normal, intro, ending, var1, and var2 to memory "A" and then save to disk, load into the 7000, the style goes into memory "A".
So far so good.
The basic "normal pattern is OK but the intro, variations and endings are all wrong.
How do I transfer the intro, variations, and endings into th KN7000?
The file loads into the Kn2000 and works properly, but not into the KN7000. I have tried composer load, load all, ETC, but nothing seems to work.
I must be missing something.
Thanks,
Walt

Hi Walt,
maybe I may remind you on the fact that on technicskn7000.com they did the work for you?
Greetings,
Cees

Walt, I would need to see one of your saves but suspect that initially you had a file using a 2000 preset. When loaded into the 7k this will just select the closest equivalent preset which will naturally be different. If you copy the entire style into composer on the 2000, (I suspect some stages may have been left out when you copied individual patterns), it should load into the 7k with most patterns in their right places. To do this you needed to set the composer to expand mode or something similar, on the 2000 I seem to recall from the mists of time. Otherwise intros and endings were not copied. But you may have to fiddle with intros fills and variations to fit everything in its right place, and have to do 2 separate saves to get the 4 fills available, and copy patterns into variations 3 and 4 to fill them - rather than have them empty which would be embarrasing with an incorrect button press while playing!

As Cees says just find the pattern from the 7000.com download - someone else has done all the work for you.

Cees & TechnicsPlayer,
Thanks -- between posts I found the KN2000 conversions on the KN7000.com site and have downloaded all of them. They work great!
I have some other styles that don't convert well so I'll try all the hints that I can get.
Walt

..... and to think I paid good money for the three volume set of 2000 Reprise styles just a few months back - and now they're free

Having said that, there were comparatively few styles on the 7000 site which I visited yesterday ( despite what Alec said elsewhere so I'll have to visit there again) and from a quick comparison check none of the titles on the 7000 list are on any of the style disks - perhaps some name changing has been going on. Thinks, wonder if the disks will work on the 7000. They did on the 6000, so they should, but I shan't know until tomorrow when the 7000 arrives

Just remembered, I also bought the 2 volume set of 5000 reprise disks...... Just hope the 3000 styles which as far as I know were never issued as reprise volumes, come out as freebies.
