There will be future updates taking care of smaller issues, as well as implementing some of the suggestions for refining the user interface which have been sent to us.

These are the most important issues addressed in 1.4.1:

- Bass-line progression after a chord change
- Expression value affecting the Manual-Bass
- Interruption of sustained notes (Bass, Strings, etc.) switching Style-Elements
- Auto-save of the Global-Voice-Preset has been improved
- Lower-Sound could sometimes remain OFF after using Intro 1
- The Ensemble function sometimes incorrect in particular settings
- Reset/Tap stopping the active PADs
- MP3-files with lyrics sometimes misaligned

For even more details, please see the release notes which are inside the “new features manual” (page 118 – 120) attached to the download package.

With this important OS update we are fixing the most urgent requests as quickly as we can. We continuously evaluate all feedback sent to us, and we will further improve and evolve the Pa5X operating system based on feedback from our customers around the world.

Thank you for your suggestions.

That's a record for how quickly Korg have updated an OS on the PA5X!

Some of this is a bit worrying about their QC, though. It's hard to imagine some of these bugs NOT being noticed before the release of v1.4.0., but they released it anyway.

I know it's my personal opinion, but I feel that Korg are letting the ONE undeniably groundbreaking new feature wither on the vine, the dual style player. If it worked EXACTLY as you hoped it would, it's utterly amazing! The end of style fatigue. An exponential increase in different sounding styles, a way to make styles with far more variations and fills, a way to quickly add contemporary edge to dated styles...

I've often called it the biggest leap forward in the arranger for 20+ years, and I stand by that IF ONLY it was perfected. But as is, few are using it. It doesn't integrate well with the Songbook, it isn't a 'set it and forget it' feature, it needs a LOT of setting up manually even when saved to the Songbook. And that is exactly what the Songbook is supposed to do. One button, EVERYTHING ready to go.

And naturally, if it's that hard to use, people don't use it, and then Korg drop it. A feature needs to work PROPERLY before players jump on board. As usual, I get the impression that the designers of their arrangers aren't REALLY hardcore arranger players. But I feel that about most R&D teams!

Yes, it's great Korg have picked up the pace on bugfixing, but the PA5X deserves an OS that perfects its best NEW features while simultaneously bugfixing standard stuff that should have been fixed THREE YEARS AGO....
