Martin Harris gave a captivating 90 minute non-stop concert on the Yamaha Genos 2.
Nothing beats a demo from the developer of the product. He brings out the true potential of this arranger keyboard. He is such a natural entertainer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNWFUhCgceQ

He played excerpts from:

Blinding Lights by Weeknd
How Deep is your Love by BeeGees.

He demonstrated the sound of the CFX Concert Grand sampled 7 layers deep across 88 keys.

Martins surprised the audience with his Classical chops. He laughed and said he is not Lang Lang.

Next, he tried some Pop Piano.

He loves using Free Styles and played Danny Boy using the Ethereal Movie Free Style.
He shared a valuable tip. Use the [Sync/Start] button to stop the Free Style before you change chords.

The Character Grand is sampled from a heavily used 1970s Schimmel Piano.
This is perfect for playing Elton John or Jazz pieces.

Martin loves using the AI Fingered Mode. It helps him create many different chord types. It is perfect for playing a walking bass line. He demoed this featuring by playing “Fly Me to The Moon.”

One Touch Settings using a 60’s Samba Style to play Quando Quando,

Demo of the Felt Piano

Demo of an Upright Piano

Martin then switched over to play on the Yamaha SX920.

Demo of the Concert Guitar.

Demo of the Piano – Yesterday by Beatles.

Nights in White Satin with a Country Style = 6/8 Guitar Ballad.
Using MultiPads to add a 4/4 Strumming Guitar to create a Polyrhythm.

Taylor Swift demo – “Love Story” with her MP3 vocals.

More Vocal demos from:

Ed Sheeran – Bad Habits
Dua Lipa – Don’t Start Now
Chris Martin – Sky Full of Stars

The real time accompaniment generated by the Yamaha SX920 rivaled the actual studio recordings. Why would you need anything more?

The song styles created by Yamaha Engineers are spot on.

Martin then moved over to the Genos 2.

Breathtaking Nylon Guitar Demo

Cinematic Strings – James Last style

Careless Whisper – George Michael.

Demo of Ambient Drums on Purple Rain - Prince

Toto – Rosanna

Country Roads

Lay down Sally – Eric Clapton

Demo of Steel Drums

Demo of the FM Pianos

Demo of Broadway Ballads – Somewhere

Movie Montage using Irish Flute, Trumpets, Brass, Horns, Human Whistle

Top Gun Theme

Children – Robert Miles

Closing Schlager medley.

If there is one Martin Harris demo you need to watch this is it!

Martin joined Yamaha 32 years ago and transformed the landscape of arranger workstations.

Tnx for the info Tapas.
Martin Harris is a great player and demonstrator.👍
However, the video is blocked and goes in black within seconds when try watch it due to copyright restrictions in the region I live.
It's probably the songs played that cause this to happen... 🤔😕

Hi Gunnar,

Oh, that is so unfortunate. However, I understand why YouTube may have blocked this performance because Martin played through long sections for many of the songs, not just short snippets.

I was actually quite surprised how close the arrangements mimicked the original studio recordings.

Yes, Martin is a skilled keyboardist and being the developer he knows how to exploit the full potential of the Yamaha SX920 and the Genos 2. This 90-min performance is the best demo of these advanced instruments presented by the Project Leader.

From what I can gather the owners site is based in Germany and the concert is from an Italian music performance, however I can play it without problems (I am in the UK).
Here is the actual You Tube channel here so you could try playing from there instead.
It is unusual for a video to start and then go blank if it is blocked, it normally just issues a warning that the video is unavailable (And the reason why), so check your web browser settings,(Including clearing the cache) or try a different browser.

Tnx Bill.

The message is (translated by Google): This video includes content from SME, which has blocked it in your country for copyright reasons.

It's the same regardless by use of 3 different browser, but of course it's no problem watch by use of tools like VPN. 😏😁

Watch the brilliance of Martin Harris kick up a storm on the Yamaha EL90 organ in his younger days.

He uses the dual manuals and the pedal board to the hilt.
All his registrations are stored on disks.

It is no surprise why he made using Registrations on the Tyros/Genos so much easier.

First half

Carmen prelude (Georges Bizet)
Mickey Mouse March (Jimmie Dodd)
Blackpool theatre organ medley
Hot Toddy (Ted Heath)
Under the double eagle (J.F. Wagner)
Sinfonia Per Un Addio (Rondò Veneziano)
Greek Wine "Fiesta" from The Milagro Beanfield War (Dave Grusin)
Just a little love, a little kiss
Nola (Felix Arndt)
Latin American drawbar medley
Nessun Dorma (Puccini)

Second half

One O'clock jump (Count Basie)
Musicians with attitude (David Benoit)
Poet and Peasant overture (ending) (Franz von suppe)
Now's the time (Charlie Parker)
Overture to The Sicilian Vespers (Giuseppe Verdi)

Martin is a living legend. His playing style is impeccable.

It’s worth looking into a reputable VPN like Nord to gain access to content blocked in your country. Just change the location of your IP to say the UK or Germany etc and enjoy content geo-blocked from the US (or vice versa!)…
