Today my wife Glenda will get a
pacemaker installed. We’re told it’s
the last resort for her due to her
constant Afib. Not fun hearing the
doctors talk about all this.

Wishing the best of luck for your wife and you Deane! πŸ‘

know there is lots of people that has got this "tool" mounted in the body to stimulate the heart if needed, and it obviously works well.
Even our King and Queen of Norway is among those who got it "installed" quite resently. 🌞

Deane, I have had a pacemaker for over a year, and I have afib and take blood thinner.

You guys will be fine.I have a monitor in the bedroom that triggers if I
go into afib. Annie has been on blood thinner to prevent stroke from afib for many years.

We're mighty grateful for modern medicine.

Best of luck!

Russ

Back home. Everything went great.
Glenda will use an app on her iPhone
to monitor the pacemaker. The nurse told
her she got the best of the best pacemakers
whatever that means. Glenda had a valve
replace 2 years ago and has had Afib
since then. All the meds they tried has
not worked.

She will do just fine, Deane. These devices have come a long way since the first ones were installed in 1962. Back then, the batteries only lasted 6 months at best and the entire unit had to be replaced--not just the batteries. Additionally, they were the size and shape of a hockey puck, whereas today's are tiny in comparison.

Good Luck, Old Friend,

Gary cool
