The delivery, the setup in my office, and sharing a corner with another office toy. All the extra gear was stuff I already had but not using.

Thanks Gary. I'm heartened by the fact that you seem to be doing as well or better than expected, considering what you've been through. There is no better medicine than a great attitude. At the moment I'm trying to figure out how to play regular Roland styles so I can respond to Diki's inquiry concerning # of variations it can play. So far, no joy. As far as I can tell, aside from the onboard styles, it only plays styles from specialized Style/Tone packs available (for a price - of course) on the Roland Sound Cloud. Currently, I have no plans to purchase any of these. If anyone finds anything different, please let me know. Peace to all.

Hi Chas
Real nice setup in a nice room. Duh!, I can't figure out what the big display in the last picture is, that looks like a flight simulator.

Hi Bernie, yeah, it is. I originally bought it to help my grandson through his Instrument rating. I'm a CFII (not active) and a CGI (ground school). He's 19 and has his Instrument, Commercial, and Multi. He's a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering at Univ. of Illinois. My son is also an instrumented rated private pilot but has not actively flown in about 10 years. He's getting interested again. Hope your medical problems have been resolved. We'd like to see you posting some music again.

Thanks Chas, for sharing the pics. How'd you know I was blue? As much time I have devoted to strictly arranger play (20 gigs month still), I long for a piano most days (at home). The Nord is one I've been interested in - never had one! The Roland looks interesting, but I have wondered about the style section. I think you answered my question. Geesh, I have a library of Roland styles and it would've been nice to throw those in, but....

Happy for you smile

Hi Zuki, yeah, you read it right. If you're looking for a capable arranger keyboard, the FP-e50 is probably not for you, but if you're looking for a nice affordable digital piano with a decent keybed and a great acoustic piano sample, then maybe. The Nord is great (sound-wize) but a bit expensive. But I tell you this, if you're awash in arranger playing (necessary for gigging), you'll be delighted at how enjoyable, gratifying, etc. it is to just sit and 'noodle' away on just piano. Just ask Paul or Bill Lewis smile. Anyhow, you won't have to consider replacing/upgrading it every year. Once and done, baby. That's it. smile smile

This is why I want a Nord! Not that I can play at this level smile

No question, great sounding boards (all of them), I had a C2D and still have a C1 that I use as a controller for my Legend EXP module. Just DON'T SHOW YOUR WIFE THE RECEIPT smile smile. Seriously though, you can't go wrong with a Nord.
