I first heard this song in 2015, performed by the Irish Rovers. I fell in love with it, but it proved to be a real challenge to perform it live, onstage, in front of a group of line dancers, nearly all of which were women. After a couple days of finding all the lyrics, then an appropriate style, I gave it a shot. They loved it, and I recorded it live on a job in 2016.

Here's my rendition of Irish Stew I'm not Irish, but I sure ended up performing a lot of Irish songs back when I was still working. A big thanks to Terry Sutliff for posting his Irish song and jogging my memories of a wonderful time in my life.

All the best,

Gary

It sounds very vivid, surely it was an excellent contribution to your show. I realize now that being a musician doesn't guarantee being an entertainer, sometimes musicians manage to ruin the fun, but you know how to keep the audience alive :-)

You've got it! Being a full-time entertainer is a lot more difficult than being a talented musician. I very talented musician is satisfied when he enjoys the songs he or she is playing. An entertainer is not there to satisfy himself, but instead, he is there to entertain and satisfy the entertainment needs of a very diverse audience, which adds a lot to the degree of difficulty.

All the best,

Gary cool
