Never produced sequenced music - and no intention of trying - too complicated for my little brain - but got this sudden irrational need to produce music as follows :-

1. record a backing track, e.g. drums and bass from a style.

2.Live play a right hand melody, say trumpet, piano or what have you and record this onto the backing track while that is playing.

3.Add accompaniment track -left or right hand play - this could be strings or piano chords onto the above.

4, Playback and enjoy, or in my case likely to wince.

Is this possible on the kn7000 and if so how would I go about it?

Peter

Ah Peter
What a shame you didn't manage to get along to the recent KN7000 convention in Cambridge - we covered all that and much much more.
Now let's see if one of those that did attend can remember what they were taught...Audrey...Joan...alright, go on Bill.

Hi there - this was indeed covered at Cambridge by Bill abd in its simplest form when he was showing Peter how to play a counter melody to the song, "You're just in love".

I am sure, that Bill will be only too pleased to answer this thread, so over to your capable hands Bill.............Joan

Hi Peter,

You say that you have no intention of using the sequencer - in that case, it is not really possible to achieve your desired result I can assure you, that it is NOT complicated...........

If you are willing to give it a try, I'll produce a procedure for you.

Bill presentation of building a style at our last jam was a terrific presentation with a great handout for practicing at home. Bill is "Master of the Sequencer".

BERNIE..... Great idea, bet you live in FL.

My home base is in extreme S.E. New Mexico & my motor home gets an average of 5 mpg of diesel fuel.... about 1500 miles to FL and another back..... Will you pay for my fuel both ways????

The internet is a great communication tool for so many who just cannot manage one on one jam sessions all the way across the country....and the big pond.

It is still a great idea for those who can to include this portion in the Spring FL gathering.
