I bought an SBLIVE Platinum with a front panel.

The front panel has MIDI IN/OUT ports so I bought 2 MIDI cables but when I went to plug my keyboard into the SBLIVE front panel, the MIDI cable were too big.

I called some music stores and they said all MIDI cables are the same size and should fit but it doesn't.

What kind of cables do I use to hook from my keyboard into the front panel?

Is there a such thing as mini-MIDI cables?

Hey that is what happened when I tried to plug midi cables into my sbl ive front panel
these cables fitted everything else so it must be the sb. I fitted my cable to the back game port like I did when i had the old sound card it works fine, but it was rather a waste buying the new card. also I get far more crackle when recording audio than Idid with the old one. I've never heard of mini midi cables. I think the problem is that the sockets are set too far back into the case so the plastic ends of the cables are too wide

Thanks for the reply.

I'll just return these cables and buy one that plugs into the game port in the back.

Yes indeed some one at Creative had 'brainfade' when they put those non-standard MIDI connectors on there.
Perhaps when you buy the whole lot (card+drive) you get adapter leads too?
I know there's now a remote sensor as well now, but I sure there's enough room on the front panel to allow every to fit on it.
I've a Drive II version which uses the normal sized connectors.
The joystick/MIDI port on the back is the same MIDI connection, so jsut get one of those special leads to split the signals. You may find a use for those MIDI leads after all.
