My proposed new set up for the music room.
The design of the set up allows using the system as a live play
and a record studio without changing or modifying the gear.
The heart of the performance, the keyboard (G70).
The heart of the recording, The PC (laptop) prepared with
MixCraft Pro 8 (daw) and boost ready flash ram, touch screen.
19 inch external monitor.
M-10dx digital mixer and Roland Quad capture
audio/midi interface.
All connections are digital.. mixer, audio interface and laptop.
Recording via MixCraft(daw) and Tascam DR07 from the mixer(M-10dx).
Sound support (speakers) run off the mixer.
Main sound are Roland Cube 100's RAC active from M-10dx room analyze control.
(flat).
The Marantz voice rover will be controlled separately from the mixer
as a monitor.
Another (Podium 802) will be controlled with aux send from the mixer.
Live play will be from the G70 intirely. Into the front inputs of
Quad capture, and out of the 1 and 2 out puts on the back.
The outputs will be routed into the mixer, thus all will remain digital.
The G70 will have arranger functions, song sequencing , mic and harmonies,
controlled within the G70. Also tablet or cell phone connected into audio input.
Spacewise and gear wise, this is a relatively small footprint, and the 12X13 room
will be fine. The G70 will sit on a Roland V-stand. The mixer will sit on the G70.
The audio interface, laptop and 19 inch monitor, on a desk.
Roland Cubes in each corner, Marantz on desk (ear level), and additional Podium
as a floor monitor.
What I like about this design... I can use the same exact setup on stage or studio.
