A few weeks ago I was searching for a style that would work to take the place of Yamaha "West End Ballad"...and with a bit a searching within the Roland EA7 I think I found a Roland style called
"Epic Movie" that could work for me to replace it...
I just did a quick record in the EA7
take a listen see what you think.. headphone

Beautiful, but can't see myself using it. Can't think of a song I know that would fit.

good things can be done with this style for sure..
The EA7 keeps surprising me the more I dig in. cool2

Now back to my Smoked ham and Eggs with
new mexico green hatch chilis on top oh yeah!

Donny i played today in a shop on the EA7 and i can say that many styles are the best , especialy r&b ,funk ,jazz 'pop and latin, but the sounds are average some are good -supirior grand piano and some
acoustic drumes , but mostly i felt like playing on key from 15-20 yeares ago .

Files like that, are one of the reasons for loving my Sx900. Add the instrument sound quality that the Sx900 has, and you have a winner.

Do you sing too.? I hope you shut off the onboard speakers
and had the Output Mode button pushed (blue lite) on?..
and were playing out of a quality sound system
Playing it cold without some tweaking
the EA7 sound a huge difference..

Donny i am not a singer , and did a lot of tweaking in the past that improved the keyes , but yet i was limitted to the basic souns , you can not change FORD to become BMW 'you can make it better but to a certain limit.
at the end it is a matter of taste , if you enjoy your EA7 good for you , i enjoy my GENOS ,for me the sound quality is the most important and I am willing to make an effort even if the operating system is less comfortable , though in my opinion it eventually gets used to every operating system, and ultimately if the organ rings well it is most important to me.

Dud, there are many sounds going back 15 plus years.. (G1000, G70, Fantom G, and they were considered very good.. There are also many sounds from the SRX boards (exceptional)..

The Stage 88 acoustic piano is an example of a great sound.
There are many new drum kits too..

I have found that I like to raise velocity levels with many of the sounds(brings them to life).

I would not expect the E-A7 to sound better than the Genos (4 times the cost).. But I think the E-A7 holds it own against most keyboards in the same price range and even many more expensive models..

Hi Donny,

I must have the wrong style in mind when you mentioned Westend Ballad, I thought it was more like the Broadway Ballad I use for my musicals. I sure got that one wrong. Haha

This one reminds me more of those Movie themes like for Star Wars, ie big action type movies.

Either way, great style.

Donny,I found the "Epic Movie" style in the world section on the E80.Here`s a bit of "Memory"from Cats using the variation 3 intro
and the variation 2 ending.
