Can I use a EQ with my microphone before going into the PA4X. So I would plug the mic into the eq then go out of the eq to the mic input of the PA4X... Has anyone ever tried this. Thanks Ron and Happy New Year to All

You certainly can, but I would think the internal e.q. offers everything you would need.
You'll have to be careful about the input volume as the the e.q. source and the input knob on the keyboard will both need to be considered.
Personally, I use the automatic mic processing. It is better than anything I have come up with myself. I set it at 40% and forget it. Compression also about 40%.
