Listen to what he is saying regarding the layers of sound with 26 Layers & Wave cycling
so every time the drummer hits the drums its a different sound.
That is what separates Genos from Baby Genos/SX900 or any other third party style configurations.
The others just have the amount of sampling power and storage to create these
REVO drums correctly as designed.

Even Revo drums are very very basic when compared to high end drum tracks..
In daws every drumsound has its own track..
Most sampled drum sounds are multilyers with round robin (random wave cycling)
You can use cc on every note to make it sound more specific..
Next to sampled drum sounds, there are moddeled souns and VA sounds
You can layer effects on every drumsound..
All drum sounds go into a bus channel, which adds effects and reverb..

These drums are recorded into loops..
Those loops can be sliced up..
And then those slices can be triggered by midi again..

Revo drums is just a first step..
Don’t forget the standard synth engine of the pa4x can do much more with drums then the Genos.
Also the SX900 has exactly the same revo drums as the Genos..
The synth engine (AWM2 part) is exactly the same as the Genos
What sets Genos appart (in styles)is its SA2 voices and much more dsp power (dsp effects)

The part he explains about the Genos works identical in the SX900

Where did you get the info about SX900 has Revo drums?
As far as I know they are the same samples as Genos without the 26 layers. There is nothing in the manual etc.
Thanks
Eric

I am sorry i misread, i was misinformed, it says new drumkits derived from Revo drums.. so they are not actually revo drums..

Now I feel much, much better. The Revo drums coming with the GHENOS pack from Mexico have seven layers each. No wonder they make for such a HUGE difference on my PSR S770!
