He really helped bring the Blues into the forefront of the music scene. How great to be able to do what you do with no compromises and be recognized for it. His Style sounded so simple but was very distinctive and all his own. Love his stuff.

B.B. definitely knew how to make any song a blues! Cool rendition of the Bday song in his honor.....

Tony and Randy, thanks for posting.

I was in my early 20s in Providence, RI. At 9 PM we decided to take the 1 hour drive to Boston and wound up in Kenmore Square at a night spot whose name I don’t remember. Turns out B.B. King was playing there, we got there for his last set, the doormen let us in to listen without paying the cover charge. Those were the days! Happy Birthday B.B. King.

He was truly "One-of-a-Kind!" Wish he could have lived a bit longer... but his legacy of recorded songs lives on. Thanks, Mr. King... and thanks for remembering, Tony!

Ditto - oh, the good ole days! B.B. could draw a crowd and when he did, he could keep their feet tapping!

My sound company provided the stage for a Blues Concert at the Kentucky Horse Park 10 years back or so. BB was the feature. He couldn't have been nicer. I actually went home and got a cherry 335 solid for him to look at. They were pretty rare, and look just like Lucille, but solid; not semihollow. He hooked it up; played it through the sound system, and invited me to play. Soon, his bass player and drummer were on stage. I switched to B-3.

Nice fellow I'm glad I got a chance to meet.

Yes, he offered to buy the 335 solid, but I kept it.
