Its clear that the new breed of Yamaha’s SX series keyboards represent an upgrade in quality from the previous PSR models. So, why does Yamaha insist on continuing the PSR label in their name.

No one is going to call it “the PSR-SX900”, there going to call it “the SX900”. It’s easier to say and it differentiates it from previous incarnations.

Time to move into the 21st Century Yamaha. The product has...but the title hasn’t.
The “SX900” works much better. (MHO)

Still, it’s worth mentioning that Yamaha has lines of all kinds of equipment, and with no special labels they are likely to overlap.

I’m not even sure what “PSR” stands for, but I just gathered it was their mid level line of arranger keyboards. The last generation was the “S” series.

With the added Real Estate...I suppose they could take a tip from McDonald's!

I've had PSR's since the beginning before moving on to Tyros models and now Genos.

PSR - Porta Sound Regular

I believe the onboard speakers are the main reason for that description. Why wouldn't the newest models with speakers share the same? PSR 3000 was (is) a quality keyboard and the PSR designation takes nothing away from that. These aren't Casio's !!!! -charley
