I am thinking of a lighter backup for my KN7000. I have many custom styles and reg's on SD.

Any problem loading one at a time in a 2600 for performance ?

It seems the enhancements of the KN7000 wouldn't be necessary as long the styles and reg's matched, but I could be missing something.

I had the 2600 as a backup to my 7000. Like a fool I sold it. Now I wish I had not.

The only difference to me was the 2600 does not have a floppy drive and sound system is not the greatest.

Since I use my Bose, the onboard speakers are not so important. What is,is the ability to slide in my SD cards and come up with the same style and registration.

The KN2600 doesn't have exactly the same sets of standard rhythms as the KN7000 and has others that the KN7000 doesn't have.
So if your 'act' contains the use of a wide range of standard on board KN7000 rhythms you may need to move these individually to composer memory A to make sure that they are taken across to KN2600 on an SD Card.
I say may because it's not something that I've had to do but sheer logic tells me that that is the way to solve the problem.

p.s. There is no custom style area on the KN2600 so you would need to transfer these one at a time to composer memory A as well...

As Roger points out there is a bit of work involved in copying styles. Also there is no aftertouch so some sounds of the 7000 (including the magnificent soloist sounds) can not be accurately reproduced on the 2600. The 2600 does not have the organ tab or accordion register settings. All that being said, if you can live with these limitations the 2600 is a useful backup for the 7000. Positives include being lighter and cheaper than the 7000.

Thank you all for your feedback. I have decided to pass on this board.
