I think that a lot of the questions about "how to" concerning the KN7000 have resulted from the fact that the instruction manual supplied with the instrument is rather shortcut. It does not go into much detail about procedure or even specifications about the capabilities of the instrument.
As an example, I could not find any place where it specified that a single folder on a floppy or on any particular SD card would hold only 20 files. Similarly, it does not tell you how many custom .CST files can be accessed (a bit over 200), or that you can only have one "custom" file on any one disk or card.

When I bought my KN2000 (used), I was fortunate enough to get a copy of Lutz Deterra's and Phillip Leader's book "Exploring the KN2000", which was much more user friendly and informative than the Tecnics manual, even though the Technics manual was very detailed and complete. Unfortunately the KN7000 manual doesn't have one third of the information that the old KN2000 manual had in it about the instrument.

BOTTOM LINE: Has anybody taken it upon themselves to write a more comprehensive "how to" book about the KN7000. It is sorely needed and would surely be appreciated by all serious owners of the KN7000.
Hoping for the best,
Walt
ps: Do I remember reading in one of the posts that Alec had written an extended manual, or am I just wishing?

The KN7000 instruction manual is hardly useful at all. Hope that either Technics issues a supplement to the manual (Do not hold your breath!) or someone who can put things on paper that the average person can understand will produce a manual that will cover the basics.
Hard to understand that Technics can make such a nice keyboard and then put out a manual that leaves everyone guessing as how to do anything !
Even some who contribute to the understanding of the KN7000 use terms and explanations that leave the rest of us wondering if we are retards.
Hope in the future that something will come up to help all of us KN7000 owners to use the keyboard more effectively. Lloyd

Is it possible that Alec, or anyone else, could anticipate all possible questions arising about the 7000? I wonder if it might be helpful for new owners to start a master list of questions/concerns/issues about understanding and use of the various functions on this new board.

I think you will find the comment above "patience is a virtue..." gives us a hint that something is in preparation

I am sure it will be as good if not better than the 6000/6500 Manual. A must have.
